Governance Structure

The governance structure is organised into several key components. At the top level, North West Health & Justice and Specialised Commissioning Senior Leadership Team (NHS England) oversees the Network, supported by various assurance groups that facilitate decision-making and escalation.

The Network reports into NHS England for assurance purposes, ensuring compliance with national standards and guidelines. Additionally, once the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) are fully established, the Network will be accountable to the three North West ICBs.

The three ICBs are:

  1. Greater Manchester
  2. Cheshire and Merseyside
  3. Lancashire and South Cumbria

The governance framework includes the Network Board, which meets quarterly and is responsible for the oversight of the Network’s annual work plan.

Dedicated task and finish groups focus on ongoing workstreams and the patient and public voice (PPV) group meets monthly to ensure the patient voice is at the heart of everything we do. This multilevel structure ensures comprehensive governance and collaboration across all levels of care delivery.
