Unbelievably #CHD is currently not recognised as a life long condition. The @NwchdN PPV group continue their fantastic work by trying to change this and discussing the vital issue with MPs 👏

Hear Our Stories

Hearing about patients and families personal stories is incredibly powerful and helps staff to remember that the reason for the service is that there is a patient at the centre of it. It is also helpful for other patients and families to hear that they are not alone and to see other people going through similar journeys.

Stories For The Website

We are looking for patients and families who are willing to be filmed sharing their story. These short clips would be made available here for others to see. If you are interested in sharing your story here please contact the Network by emailing northwestchdnetwork@alderhey.nhs.uk

Stories to be read out at the CHD Network Board

To find out more about the Network Board click here or scan the QR code below. We have a patient story at the beginning of each Board. The Board meets every three months. This is important to make sure that everyone at the meeting remembers why they are there and that the priority is to improve services for families and patients. The story for the Board needs to be focussed on one element of your care. The story may focus on something that you think needs improvement but it could also be a celebration of fantastic care that you have received as well. You can make recommendations to the Board based on your story. If you are interested in sharing your story to the Board in this way please email our Lead Nurse Linda Griffiths at northwestchdnetwork@alderhey.nhs.uk who will get back in touch with you and will help support you to do this.
