Our Network Lead Nurse attended the Liverpool and Sefton Mencap Conference to learn about the I’m In campaign. Some people with CHD also have a learning disability, joining the Learning Disability Register is key in ensuring they receive the adjustments and support they need.

As a CHD patient, you may have been told to avoid certain activities or be concerned about side effects but carefully-chosen exercises suitable for your health conditions, will provide benefits that outweigh the risks.

Is the prospect of heart surgery overwhelming you?

Liverpool Heart & Chest hospital is holding a free, optional, cardiac surgery school session to try and help you prepare, both mentally and physically, for your operation, and so that you know what to expect.

Tuesday 2nd June 2026 Conference Centre, Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, from 8.30am-11.00am

The session takes place at LHCH, in the Conference room, on Tuesday 2nd June 2026 from 8.30am-11.00am.  You are welcome to bring a support person.

You will hear from the following staff:

Cardiac Surgeon
Anaesthetist
ICU doctor
Nurse
Pharmacist
Physiotherapist
Dietitian
