New! Watch Alistair have an MRI scan of his heart

Hello! This is Alistair.

Alistair is going to have an MRI scan of his heart.

We know that going to the hospital can sometimes feel worrying.

This is especially true for people with a learning disability or autism.

This video uses simple language. It will show each step of Alistair’s visit and explain what happens.

You will see him:

Arriving at the hospital
Meeting the friendly staff Changing into a hospital gown Going into the MRI machine What the scan will feel and sound like
Finishing the scan and leaving the hospital

The MRI scan does not hurt.
The staff will help Alistair feel safe and comfortable.
He can ask questions and talk to the staff if he needs to.

We hope this video helps you:

Understand what happens in a heart MRI scan Answer questions you might have
Feel less worried about coming to the hospital
